Stoeger Introduces the STR-9 Combat X 9mm

January 2024, Accokeek, MD – For 2024, Stoeger expands its STR-9 pistol lineup with the all-new STR-9 Combat X. Developed to exceed international military standards, the new STR-9 Combat X 9mm is configured to meet any mission requirement with a reliability factor that is unprecedented in the defensive pistol segment.

Based on Stoeger’s proven STR-9 polymer-frame striker-fired handgun series, the STR-9 Combat X stands apart with its own distinctive frame design, starting with a longer frame that extends to the front of the slide, incorporating a three-slot accessory rail for a light or laser, and an enhanced beaver tail above the grip that ensures a solid purchase and maximum stability for sustained firing. The front strap is straight with dual stippling patterns across the grip to offer optimal, no-slip traction whether shooting with bare hands or gloves. The backstrap is interchangeable so shooters can customize the grip to match hand size and glove use.

Ergonomics continue with an undercut trigger guard and an oversized mag well to facilitate fast magazine swaps. This is aided by an ambidextrous slide stop lever that stands proud of the frame to speed up mag drops without losing grip position. The pistol also includes an ambidextrous slide stop system for comfortable operation for both left- and right-hand shooters.

The STR-9 Combat X is validated for 10,000 rounds of continuous fire without failure. This exceptional defensive performance comes courtesy of precision-manufactured and robust trigger and slide internals combined with a newly designed barrel and black nitride-finished slide combination.
